Who Are We?

Halesworth and Bramfield URC’s minister: The Reverend Jon Sermon, who also has responsibility for North Lowestoft URC.

Most Mondays and Wednesdays, the church opens its doors to parents, carers and children where Jo Moreira, our paid families’ worker and missionary (and her team), give practical and spiritual support to local families.  Jo also works as the church’s Sunday-school supervisor and once a month she hosts a Sunday ‘HURC TOO’ service.

Then, on Mondays, after school in term time, she hosts another service ‘Messy Church’ for local children and their families. You can find out more here.

We have long standing contact with the Edgar Sewter School, to which our ‘Open the Book’ Team take a dramatized Bible story twice per term.  Some of our church members live in other, local villages and they also have contact with their local schools.

As a church, we feel that Church Unity is of great importance.  Our minister, Jon, is current ‘chair’ of the local ‘Churches Together’ group and we have strong links with all the other churches in the area, joining together in some ecumenical services.

Every August, the church supports Southwold’s beach mission and in return, a team from the mission normally visits us.
